Welcome to Woodmere Lodge!

The Woodmere Lodge was built in 1923. For generations it was a lodge for outdoorsmen given the excellent fishing and duck hunting on the Point and Presqu’ile Bay.

Presqu’ile Point is sought after by sailors and cruisers alike. The near-by municipal dock is a concrete pier, previously known as the hotel dock, and it offers deep-water low-cost dockage. The pier is located on Presqu’ile Bay and protecting from the heavy blowing winds and crashing waves of other shores on Lake Ontario. The Murray Canal at the top of the bay gives passage from Lake Ontario to The Bay of Quinte and then Trent Severn waterway to Georgian Bay or passage to Kingston and on to the St Lawrence seaway. All by water!

The Provincial Park is literally at the back door. Bird enthusiasts love Presqu’ile. It extends out into the lake over 3km and is often the last point of Canadian land that birds and butterflies use on their migrations. The park is staffed with Naturalists that host and educate every weekend.

Presqu’ile Provincial Park has a long shallow sandy beach. The icon of the entire area is the recently restored Lighthouse at the end of the point.  There is a museum on the local history and flora & fauna and woodland creatures, as well as a nature interpretation centre. For the outdoor lovers there are biking, hiking, nature, running, walking paths.

The Lodge has been in the same local family for many years. The family would gather there all summer. The screened in porch was always a favourite spot to play board games and socialize resulting in fits of laughter and merriment that would call all the friends to gather and join in the fun. But time has passed and now it is time for the lodge to pass to another wonderful family.

The house is a 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom, year-round home. It has a sun room facing the park to watch the white tail deer snack on the spring shoots or the wild turkeys to rest from the local family of foxes.

The living room has a 2-story cathedral ceiling with a fieldstone hand-made fireplace. The kitchen has served generations of meals from Christmas dinner to a 100 yr. old’s birthday party.
